really liked it
bookshelves: contemporary

If I'm considering this book as a whole, and being picky, this would be 3 stars. However, I'm going with 4, because of the emotional response this book created in me. This was a sweet story that showed human kindness and triumph. Truly, the characters were given sour lemons but ended up making lemonade. It had some great overall messages. Okay, so it was a little sappy. The younger more cynical me, would have docked stars for that, but maybe I'm getting soft with age because I liked this.

j e w e l s this has been in my tbr forever now....but, I'm not a fan of sappy!

Donna I know exactly what you mean. I'm usually the same way. I think it was the strength of the human spirit shown in the book that helped me overlook the sappiness.
