it was amazing

“The Gruffalo” by Julia Donaldson & Illustrated by Julia Donaldson
This story about a mouse’s journey through the woods is an excellent read aimed for kids aged 3-7. This story shows of how cunningness and intelligence prevails to evade danger. The mouse makes up a fictional character “Gruffalo” with a number of defining features whose favourite food coincidently happens to be the animal in which he is talking to. In turn all the animals flee scared that the Gruffalo will eat them. Then the mouse meets an actual Gruffalo whose favourite food happens to be mouse. The mouse again uses his intelligence to his advantage and tells the Gruffalo that all the animals of the woods are terrified of him. The mouse then walks back through the woods with every animal fleeing once they see the Gruffalo. I think the message in this story that intelligence, cunningness and quickness of mind can get you out of sticky situations is a fantastic lesson for children to learn. I think this story will encourage children to work harder at their work so that some day they might be as clever as the mouse!
