Doug becomes a vampire after varsity football player, Victor bites him. Yup, the usual stuff, although Doug is geeky and overweight...not your typical broodingly handsome dark one. And, he seems to have a good 'heart'. He feeds off cows at first. When Stephin, his vampire mentor, starts coaching him, he becomes more attractive and ghoulish. Being rebuffed by Sejal, and Indian exchange student, he sets his sights on Abby...and sucks just enough blood to give him strength, but not turn her. Things heat up, however, when vampires and humans show their true colors and intentions and a battle begins.

Fat Vampire: A Never Coming of Age Story is full of gutsy dialogue, teenage humor, and anguished angst. But, the ending was strangely weird and odd and could have been oh-so-much-better. This is not your typical blood-lust vampire story.
