I received this ARC in a blogger giveaway. Here is my honest review:

Oh my goodness. While this book isn't exactly unique (X-Men has done this special abilities thing many times over), it still stands strong. A lot goes on in this novel as it hits the ground running from the very beginning, staying action-packed throughout the entire book. Dez loves pissing off her father, and nothing would piss him off more than a strange boy at their house in the middle of the night. However, the ess hits the fan when the boy and her father recognize each other. Turns out, this Kale has a deadly touch, and her father has something to do with it. A lot to do with it.

Dez is a fun, sporty, honest narrator. She's enjoyable to me. I liked her perspective on things, and the way she has to handle Kale with everything being new to him made me rethink the things I take for granted in my life. Plus it was pretty humorous. She also has to teach him about the complicated things, like love for instance. Man, that kind of got thrown around too much, but it's a book, right? Anyway, that chapter in the hotel.. dang, girl. HOT. My only complaint was that I got a little confused every now and then. There was a lot to keep track of at certain points!

In a nutshell, this book is highly entertaining, fast paced, and chock full of action-packed drama at every turn. It keeps you thinking and guessing until the end. And that cliffhanger! Needless to say, I can't wait for the next one!!
