I suspect I didn't enjoy this as much as the friend who recommended it to me. It was good. All the parts were right: characters I cared about, well-paced plot, original premise and execution--but I just wasn't that excited about the whole. Maybe there were too many social issues the author tried to address in too little space. Maybe it was a little too pessimistic for me. I don't regret the time spent reading it, though (it did go quite quickly).
