really liked it
bookshelves: male-author, graphic-novels

this is the first graphic novel that i have read. i was kind of against them because i've never liked comics much... but this was actually really good. it was interesting to read something where my imagination wasn't making the pictures.

i really liked how the story jumped between the author's relationship with his father in the present and the father's experience during the holocaust.

Ann Maus was the first graphic novel I read, too. If you thought this was an interesting format, I would highly recommend Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Like "Maus" it isn't an uplifting book, but it is an extremely interesting one. The illustrations add so much to the story line.
