Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality

One of the best, most readable books on a search for truth that I've ever read. Miller explores the disturbing questions of the Christian life, rejecting the "pat" answers that don't satisfy. In the end, his conclusion is often simply, "I don't understand it, but I trust that God knows what He's doing." This book is for anyone who's ever felt that their faith didn't begin to touch real-life issues. You'll finish it feeling that you have permission to question God, and the reassurance that in your questioning, you'll find Him "big enough."
