it was amazing

This was my first John Sandford novel, and so it was my first in the Prey series as well. I'm hooked! After hearing John Sandford speak at Thrillerfest, I was inspired to try the series. I don't know how this compares to other Prey novels, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The pacing and structure are the work of a skilled craftsman. Sandford ups the ante so gradually and seamlessly that the hooks get into you without warning. And then the night is shot and you're up till 3am reading. I wasn't surprised to learn that he's a former journalist: his writing is tight, tense, spare, and evocative. This was a fun, addictive, exciting read. And I look forward to reading more in the series. Good thing there are over a dozen of them!

Linda You need to go back and read the first 10 or so of the "Prey" books. They were really good. Storm Prey - not so much.
