Very useful, whether you want to be a writer or not. Learning how to appreciate good writing is a skill and can be useful even when simply telling a story to a friend across a table while enjoying a cup of coffee. If nothing else, it will open readers' eyes to the differences between quality literature and twaddle. For more:

Ilze Pleased to see you liked it. I've had it on my shelf for some time and haven't been able to dip into it (though I tried for a while). Since you've made your way to the end of it, I'm sure I can too!
... and isn't it funny that her surname is "prose"??!!

Satia Like me, you may occasionally find your mind drifting a bit. I looked for transitions in her explications to signal when I could close the book for a bit. It isn't that her writing is tedious to read or anything. I just think that she makes a lot of good points and they are more easily absorbed if one steps back a bit and ponders over them. This is definitely a book that a writer would want to have on hand. I've added it to my wishlist.
