Yay!! :).. I've been completely engrossed. Initially it was tough, but now its a lot easier to keep track of all the main characters... I'm really starting to like it.. I like how it touches on some philosophy.. esp (like its often in real life) when the characters are going through difficult times or are depressed..

Judy I'm impressed with how quickly you are making your way through this book. I liked Pierre best. Have you adopted a favorite character?

Anu I don't have a favorite character yet... I like Pierre too... and like Prince Andrew as well... I really want to like some of the female characters but I feel that he has painted them in a very stereotypical light...I have to keep reminding myself that he is portraying early 19th century Russian society...:D

I know what you mean about the female characters. Princess Mary has a lot of good, but she is so-o boring. Perhaps too good. Natasha is the most genuine of the female characters IMO. I like Sonya, but there isn't much about her except in the beginning part.

Judy Take a deep breath...and go for it, Anu. You might need resuscitation when you get to that 2nd or 3rd epilogue though.
