really liked it

I've been a fan of Emily Martin's artwork for years now. Her picture books are nice, but I was very disappointed with the lack of plot and clunky writing in her last novel, Oddfellow's Orphanage.

So while this book was physically beautiful, I wasn't sure what to expect from the story. Thankfully, it was sweet and charming! It's nothing really new or incredibly original, and it's fairly predictable. But her writing has greatly improved...she describes her world in a pretty way. The plot is decent and appropriately fairytale like. The illustrations are beautiful of course. Overall this book was such a pleasant experience.
