Not as thrilling or as fast a read as Paranormalcy, but still entertaining. I think the author is setting things up for the third book because a lot of the most interesting plotlines weren't resolved. Evie bugged me for a lot of this book -- I couldn't understand why she kept making so many stupid decisions when she's normally pretty smart about things. Even with having a very isolated childhood and basically being raised by TV, I thought she was pretty emotionally savvy in the first book and in this one some of her emotional decisions seemed inconsistent. Bummed there wasn't more Lend, but I assume something is brewing for the next book.

Sara Agree with your review. She must be setting things up. But what about Reth? He stole every scene he was in...

Christina Reth confuses me! He has a creepy, controlling ex-boyfriend vibe but could also turn out to be good(ish). The creepiness keeps me from getting too attached to him, but I enjoy characters that are in that gray zone (about whether they're good or bad), so I'm eager to see what's going on.

Sara Exactly! Is he good or evil? I can't tell, but he makes for an interesting story.
