it was ok
bookshelves: fantasy, teen-book
Read in April, 2012

The second book falls short of the first book. There was so much build up in the first book around Ky and Cassie getting together only to be torn apart that the conflict the author creates within Cassie for Xander and Ky seems almost added in. I mean she leaves everything she knows to find Ky and yet she's still having doubts! On top of that Ky's whole focus being centered around Cassie doesn't give him much depth, his one conviction is thrown out the window so he can follow her, I know it's teenage love, but still... The author tries to put depth into each character, but the way it's done just makes it feel like we still only know the characters on a superficial level. Overall due to the first one I do want to know what happens to these characters, but the second one pretty much ended how the first one did; Cassie in Society and Ky on the outside, but now we have Cassie near Xander and all have conveniently switched sides.
