This book is written in the first person. It’s narrated by a young man who has been mute since the age of eight as the result of a traumatic experience. The chapters alternate between his last years in high school and his early years in adulthood. It’s a combination of a coming of age story and a crime novel. I wouldn’t call the book a page turner but it’s very readable and the fact that there are two plot lines in alternating chapters helped hold my interest. In the end it was only an average story in my opinion. Not really very compelling.
