Trickster's Choice and this its sequel have earned a spot on my bookshelf for all time favorite fantasies. Trickster's Queen plunges us into the rebellion, the sacrifices of war and the ethical dilemma's faced by those who wage it. Filled with more tradgedy than Book 1, it's also filled with more romance and though less than its predecessor still much wit to balance out the sadness. Even more characters are introduced than in the first book and I am amazed at how Pierce manages to do them all justice. These characters are strong, intelligent, and full of wit and wisdom. Her characterization is really skilled and I can't wait to introduce these women, and men as well, to my daughter (only when she is a little older). The characters are all quite diverse in background and point of view, but their loyalty, cunning, different forms of brilliance, bravery and humor fit them nicely together.
