The last third of the book was vintage Clancy....a compelling, exciting mix of 8 to 10 plot threads all converging into a shared climax. It was on par with Red Storm Rising and The Hunt for Red October in my opinion. However, the character and plot development in the first part of the book was uncharacteristically long and slow in my opinion. It was tough to stay involved at points. So I would not give this book my normally high overall rating for a Clancy novel. But...I still enjoyed the book. It is certainly worth reading if you are a Tom Clancy fan (and I am!).
