This is a well written book about health and friends. Amos McGee loves visiting his friends at the zoo everyday, and doing what they love best with them. Amos has the same daily routine in which he goes about visiting the animals at the zoo. One day Amos doesn't show up, so his friends from the zoo come to care for him.

I thought this was a great children s book in which it shows a great example of what friendship is all about. With Amos being sick, it also would be good for showing children how you need someone to care for you when your sick. Lastly, the illustrations in this book were amazing.
