Read 3 times. Last read 2018.

The Good Daughter is an intense, sometimes deeply disturbing, character-driven thriller set to the backdrop of two horrific tragedies.

When they were teenagers, two armed men entered Samantha and Charlotte's home, murdered their mother, and turned their lives upside down. Both are left with physical and mental scars and are unable to be around each other, serving as a constant reminder of that horrible night. But twenty-eight years later a shocking tragedy tangles both women in its web, bringing up memories of that night they can't escape.

The book is complex, compelling and deliciously dark, and is also graphic, intense and gritty, which doesn't bother me, but is a definite caution for some. If you like dark crime thrillers, this is the book for you. The story is completely engrossing, with two very dramatic crimes intricately tying the story together.

Thank you so much to Netgalley for letting me read The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter in exchange for my honest review.
