it was amazing
bookshelves: middle-reader, illustrated, unconventional-narrative-technique

Selznick returns with the same alternating text and illustration narrative style he used in The Invention of Hugo Cabret, this time with a story that is (a) better on its own merits and (b) better suited thematically to the narrative style. This is really, really great.
