it was amazing

Absolute powerhouse of a novel, enhanced by a wonderful performance by Joe Morton (wish I could give a 6th star just for him!). A very timely novel as well (despite being written in the 50s…). Ellison's depiction of the relationship between class struggle and racism is a predecessor to intersectionality theory, which exemplifies Ellison's nuanced and layered depiction of black life in our world of white supremacy.
