The Square Root of Murder (Sophie Knowles, #1)

I was looking specifically for a compelling mystery set on a college campus, and this one wound up being a great choice. I liked Sophie as a main character, and I enjoyed reading about her functional, healthy relationship to her boyfriend, as well as her interactions with various students. I also enjoyed the fact that I truly didn't know who had committed the murder until Sophie figured out. A few elements, such as Sophie's best friend running a bead shop and the dean of the college having her own deep dark secret, didn't work as well for me, but they were minor annoyances in an otherwise very readable and entertaining story. I'll be borrowing the rest of this series from the library soon!
