Pausch's book should be lauded for its homespun wisdom and the fact it doesn't descend into new age spiritualism or pathos over the author's imminent demise. As an educator, Paush spends a fair amount of time criticizing those politically correct forces that have enabled young people to feel good regardless of outcome or effort. His prescription for fixing education is much simpler. Self esteem is gained through achievement. Take on things you can't do and learn to do them. I couldn't agree more.(3.5)
