This book brings up lots of interesting questions about parent-child relationships and art. It became particularly interesting in the middle, when the mystery element of the book came in. Unfortunately, the resolution of the mystery is relatively flat and disappointing. Maybe that's part of the point.

Also, I'm just gonna say it: The father is a pretty big jerk with few apparent redeeming qualities.
