really liked it
Read from September 18 to 20, 2011

The conclusion of this trilogy did not disappoint. I especially appreciated the quieter tone that takes over after all the wars and battles are through. Collins, through our heroine, Katniss Everdeen, gives the reader space to reflect on the consequences of all the violence that has taken place over the course of the three books. She also takes the time to show Katniss's evolution of perception, of not seeing people as good or bad, but recognizing the shades of each in everyone, including herself. I think this is a bold move for YA fiction, though I'm sure it's refreshing for those readers to be challenged in this way. Overall, I highly recommend this series.
