Silent Blade is the first in the Kinsmen series. I am a huge fan of sci-fi movies and TV but never really got into the genre as far as books go. I've just always preferred books that are fantasy or paranormal. That being said, I really liked this novella and look forward to reading Silver Shark. Ilona Andrews has created an interesting world with great characters and honestly the only negative thing I can say is I wanted more; if that can even be considered negative. The story was short and I wanted to know more about Meli's bad ass skill and her past as an assassin. Even though short there were a couple of really great moments. I may be sick and twisted but Celino saying he'd cut his own heart and give it to Meli if he could is one of the most romantic things I've ever read.
