"The place I'm going - I've been there a couple times now. There's peace - love - a joyfulness I can't explain. Let me stay. Next time...I'm ready to stay there." He closes his eyes. "Sing me to sleep" - Derek say that I thought this book was incredible would be an understatement. It was such a wonderful story. The characters were all so likeable and believable. And the music...oh the wonderful music, this book so needs it's own soundtrack :D From the very first page...I loved this book! A fantastic journey full of sentiment, heartache and joy. Although I knew what might be coming only half way through the reading...I have to say that the end hit me hard! REALLY REALLY HARD! I guess it just shows you that no matter how much you think you are prepared for something like really NEVER are. This book was hard to take at the end....and it really made me cry! I was so not ready for it! I think this book touched on a lot. I was especially moved by the Author's note about how this book was based on a real life "Derek" named Matt.

Touching ~ heartbreaking ~ beautiful.

"Our conductor makes us listen to our numbers at night when we go to bed. Sometimes I cheat - slip in something soothing." His deep brown eyes capture mine. "YOU SING ME TO SLEEP." Derek

"Dang. I'm going to die right here and now. And then they'll win for sure. A guy with his cuteness factor blended with little-boy sweet shouldn't be allowed to roam free and unprotected. He's infectious. Crap. He's an epidemic." -Beth

"I like your heart, Beth. When I found you on this bench, you opened it and swallowed me." - Derek

"Will you be the boy who rescues me?
Will you be the boy who makes me sing?
Will you make me true to who I am?
If you're leaving, take me with you,
Here's my hand"
