really liked it

This is a fictional account of the life of Marilyn Monroe told in her words.

I like the fact that the real names of the people in Marilyn's life were not mentioned, instead Mrs. Oates used descriptions. Exp: "The Playwright," "The Ex-Athlete," and "The President."

The story is very captivating, powerful writing from Mrs. Oates. I first read the novel when I was eighteen? I was browsing a bookstore at the mall and came across this. I didn't want a biography of Marilyn, I wanted a story. I bought the book, took it home and was delighted at what I read.

If you're looking for a non-fictional account of Marilyn's life, then this book is not for you. If you want a fictional story about Marilyn that is told beautifully then this book is for you.

I give it 4/5 stars because there were some parts that could have been edited out.
