really liked it

The Gene didn't capture me quite as much as did Mukherjee's earlier book, but still, a really engaging walk through the history of the gene and the moral and ethical questions we face given the prospect of editing our own genome. I finished this at a fitting time, and jeez louise am I a little anxious about where we're headed. Looking at our past - eugenics, selecting the gender of our children to the tune of millions of missing women, etc. - it seems there's reason for concern.
