Feels very much like a first book in a series. Lots of exposition. It's not bad - no awful infodumps. The dialogue felt real and the characters sounded ok. I mostly liked them all. At first the MC's attitude annoyed me - both towards her parents and towards the turn of events, but it changed, got toned down and I liked her in the end alright.

The thing that bugged me was the love triangle - it was just too much. Especially since it's not just the two guys she meets at camp, there's her ex too. I really hope that gets toned down in the next book.

What had me interested was the resolution of her parental conflict and just what she is. To be honest, there really isn't much more than that. The plot really picks up only near the end.

It's light, not badly written, has potential. I didn't feel terribly annoyed at anything while reading it, though I didn't feel any excitment either.
