bookshelves: romance, sci-fifantasy

The first page has a sentence that causes me to grind my teeth. Other than that the entire book quickly hits its stride in which our impregnated impeccably dressed parasol wielder makes her way throughout Europe seeking answers and sanctuary all the while pursued by vampires and assassins who wish her dead. Lots of hot pursuit and loads of fun, but probably not wise to drop in without reading the other volume just previous, as that would increase your general enjoyment of the entire story (with the exception of the first chapter, as her family are simply deplorable people that overdo everything).
