Let me just start by saying Snoekstra shows great promise as a writer and I can't wait to see her refine her technique. The flashes of brilliance are why I give this two stars.
The protagonist isn't very likable and much of what occurs is just too damn implausible for me. The story meanders between two young women and nothing much happens for much of the story. When things do heat up, so to speak, the level of brutality goes from 0 to 100 really fast and there were animal cruelty scenes that were actually too much for me and very disturbing.
