There is so much heart in Autoboyography. All the heart words:
Heart attack.
Even, hard-hearted.

But with the heart, a whole lot of hope. Love is love.

Autoboyography is a wish that Christina Lauren is putting out into the universe about acceptance and the universal nature of falling in love. Not everyone will agree or identify with Tanner and Sebastian's relationship, but the book approaches both sides with compassion, while ultimately hoping that one day there will be a revelation that recognizes same-sex relationships are not a sin.

With their last book, Dating You / Hating You, Christina Lauren entered a new phase in their writing, melding a rom-com with a bigger message. Autoboyography continues that trajectory, bringing along the familiar humor and memorable main characters their books are known for, as well as a more diverse supporting cast (one of the teachers is Japanese; one of the friends, Tongan). It all adds up to a book that offers a more inclusive, modern look at relationships. I'm so glad it exists.
