really liked it

I greatly enjoyed "The Accident" by Linwood Barclay. The book has excellent pacing and even though it has a very large of characters, and it switches between first and third person narrative, it has a cohesion that does not lead to confusion.

As convoluted as the different threads were, I did not feel I needed a flowchart to keep track of what was going on. The author keeps the illusion of logic throughout the book and it was not until I turned the last page that I began to question some of the plot points.

The author masterfully interweaves the current economic crisis with the plots. He shows how overspending, adjustable mortgages, and the middle class search for economic status can combine into what could have been a comedy of errors, but instead is an American tragedy.
