really liked it
bookshelves: 2011
Read from September 10 to 12, 2011

I liked Underworld better, but think White Noise may have been a more important (and yes perhaps a more influential) book. More of an advanced marker piece of work. His literary prophesy seems more real, more darkly apocalyptic, more resonant today than perhaps even DeLillo could have imagiend back in the mid-80s. David Foster Wallace might be the voice of the 21st Century but I would argue DeLillo gave the end of the 20th Century and the beginning of the 21st its plot.

Having just read "Great Jones Street", I'm tempted to argue that deLillo might have given David Foster Wallace the plot for "Infinite Jest".

Elyse Have you watched "Schitt's Creek"? You might like it.
Hope all is well with you. I'm not sure I got 'everything' I was suppose to get from this novel -- but if enjoying it counts --I enjoyed it!

Darwin8u I'm glad you enjoyed it Elyse.
