really liked it
bookshelves: fiction, own

Like Animal Farm, I didn't find this book that interesting when reading it. But then I started thinking about it. And then I read a few analyses and gained a better understanding of the historical context of the book. I finally came to realize that I enjoyed it more than I initially thought. It's a book that makes you think, rife with symbolism and deeper meanings than what appear on the surface. I can understand why it's considered a Great American Novel, meaning it captures the zeitgeist at the time it was written.

Additional note: I read the large print edition, which was weird. I was getting tired of flipping pages so frequently, as the book had like two paragraphs to a page.
