really liked it
bookshelves: 2011, library, listened-to-audiobook

While I love starting a new series, the first book usually suffers from the -- let's introduce you to the whole gang while we set up the suspense and intrigue and oh yeah . . . the romantic couple.

The narrator on this audiobook wasn't as good as some I've listened to, so I'm sure that lends a big part some of the lack-luster feelings I have for this book.

I love, love, love the premise of a ghost-hunting/paranormal investigating unusual cases. Kicking it off in New Orleans was another great start. Jackson seems to be a strong leader and the rest of the crew seem interesting. Jackson and Angela's relationship felt rushed to me, but again . . . this is probably due to the first book issues.

While the beginning seemed to drag a bit, the ending was pretty suspenseful (even though I figured out the whodunnit and why fairly early in the book). I really enjoyed the ending though, and I'm really looking forward to starting the next book as soon as it comes in from the library :)
