This is a sweet story about a 12 year old girl who has lived with her mentally ill mother her whole life. After her mother's death, she is taken in by a great-aunt in Georgia. It is a story of love and healing. The new women in CeeCee's life facilitate that healing, which I have to admit is a storyline I love.
The writing felt a little simplistic at times, like it could have been more developed. I'm no expert, but could feel it as I read. Otherwise, a great story. Very satisfying.
