Kelly lives a routine life as a tulip farmer. Her life exploded when her spectacularly, embarassingly promiscuous mother walked out when she was a teen. Then her sister and essential ally, Olivia, was sent away to school. That was pretty much the last Kelly saw of either of them and she has lived with her father ever since.

She is totally unprepared for the return to town of the gorgeous Griffith Burnett who makes it clear that he wants a relationship with her - with strings. Then, without notice, Olivia moves home and Kelly's head nearly explodes trying to manage her mixed feelings. In all the drama, she completely misses that her best friend, Helen, on whom she is relying for support to get her through all this, also has something going on.

I enjoyed this book except for the parents who were practically caricatures. Actually, I could have coped with the evil mother if it wasn't that the saintly father was just so silly. There was no adequate explanation of his choices. I still enjoyed the book which revolves around the three women, their secrets and their choices.
