it was amazing
bookshelves: graphic-novels
Read in September, 2011

Okay, so I finally got around to reading this series after ignoring all the hype, seeing the movie, and brushing off all the glowing recommendations from friends and colleagues. If someone were to ask me why I'm reading it now, I'd say that it was partly because my curiosity finally got the best of me, and partly because I only had a staff discount on graphic novels for a few more days and I figured if not now, when then?

Suffice to say I was pleasantly surprised. The story was quirky, well written, surprisingly deep in some places and hilariously blatant in violating the fourth wall in others. In short, I loved it. Oh, and you don't have to be a video game geek to love this series, the contents goes deeper than that, but it definitely helps.
