really liked it
bookshelves: historical-fiction, young-adult-fiction

This was a gripping story in the "what if" sub-genre of historical fiction. The premise is that the American colonies lost the rebellion, and now, in 1777, they are struggling to maintain a resistance force. The pacing was quick and I enjoyed the character development from the main character, a young British person who ends up in America with the question of honoring his loyalty to his home country in the balance.
