it was amazing
bookshelves: sci-fi-fantasy, humor

What Ms. Roux pulls off in what is no doubt her first of many works in the public eye is truly fantastic. With the current stock of undead novels, comic books and video games at an all time high, Roux manages to take the material and venture out into the wastes. Sure, there isn't anything new here. And yet with every chapter, I couldn't help but want to know more. The time skips (due to the blog cadence) made each challenge Allison ran up against that much more involving. It find that sometimes a story like this can lose its bearings. First and foremost- you must care for the character(s) enough that you want them to succeed; you want them to find that person or that object. Roux accomplishes this with clever insight into what Allison thinks. The blog, in this day and age, is a mask people use to speak their minds through. And yet Allison uses this as a gateway to the unseen world. She's not trying to be anonymous. She's trying to be found- to be seen by others. And the blog replies at the end of each chapter is just icing on the cake.

I (im)patiently await Ms. Roux follow up.
