While I liked this book, it did not wow or amaze me as much as the author's other works. Some sections of the book (especially the last 75 pages or so) were fantastic and hard to put down, while others seemed to drag a bit. The author did a great job of explaining what was known about weather at the time of the story, but I wish he had done a better job of explaining the current understanding/explanation for certain types of weather as is understood today. This is definitely a book I would recommend, but I would pick up one of Larson's other works first.
