it was amazing

Oh my Goodness. I was already a fan of Holes, and then this man sets out to write a children's book about bridge. He must love jumping off cliffs. I was riveted.

And the puzzle piecing involved! If Holes was complicated, this takes it to another level! The pieces turn and fit together in new ways, and the characterizations through dialog are ruthless. I snorted out loud a lot, and when he wanted me to feel pain or social awkwardness, I felt it in my gut.

Louis Sachar has all my admiration.
