Zaria Fierce and the Secret of Gloomwood Forest is the first installment of a middle grade fantasy/adventure series featuring a 13 year old girl named Zaria. In this book she is leaving her home and going on a quest to find and rescue her best friend, Christopher, from a river troll. We follow Zaria and three other of Christopher's friends as they discover mystical creatures and all kinds of adventures.

The writing in this book was gorgeous and fast paced, I read it in one sitting, and a perfect introductory book for fantasy for middle graders.
The plot was super fun, adventurous and full of twists and turns that really kept you on your seat and ready for whatever was coming next for the kids.
The characters were just so lovable. Our MC Zaria was a good role model, she was courageous and quick witted and loved her friends dearly.

I absolutely cannot wait to read the other two books in this series! If you're looking for a fast-paced, adorable and adventurous read, look no further!
