2017 is all about ditching the books I find can't appeal to me no matter how hard I try to connect with the entire story bulk.

I'm just going to put this out there. This series is one of the worst out of everything I've read from Schwab. I love the hell out of everything else this woman wrote, but Monsters of Verity simply didn't make the cut for me.

Everything else - even if the concept was quite original - everything else, like the characterization and the plot falls terribly flat. It all felt recycled. Kate Harker is the typical angsty snarky female protagonist who seems to come across as too hard. The guy (I forgot his name), is another wimpy rosy eyed male protag. I could care less about any of them. No one in the duology so far left an impression on me, and a story that is easily forgettable is just simply not worth my time.
