I have a weakness for Jurassic Park. It's that one movie that, no matter, when it's on, I have to watch it. My enjoyment of the books is therefore heavily influenced by my deep affection for the Spielberg films. Probably harks back to my dinosaur phase as a kid.

The books are different from the films in plotline, but just as gripping in terms of action. It's a lot of formulaic pieces put together (Scientists are egotistical amoral bastards! Ian Malcolm says stuff about chaos and the universe! AUGH SOMEONE JUST GOT EATEN!), but always in a compulsively readable way.

In conclusion: everything is better with dinosaurs.
