it was ok

Goss brings together the characters of several 19th-century gothic tales (and a couple of their authors and real-life characters) and sets them the task of solving new mysteries together. Interweaving the parallel stories is an interesting concept, and the feminist bent is kind of fun, but each character telling her own story overlayed with the commentary of the others becomes tedious.

(Audiobook note: Reading's narration is mostly excellent, but her French and Italian accents are almost identical, which made identifying speakers a little challenging at times.)
