In many ways this book is a filler book. It wraps up a variety of plotlines while moving only the remaining key ones forward. It's a rough book for Sookie. Although not a lot of time passes, many emotions are covered. Sookie and Eric's relationship comes to a head, although it is hardly solved in one way or another, Sookie ends up with a better grasp on her feelings and perhaps on Eric's. If she stays with him, it will be a healthier relationship. Her relationship with Bill has become a much stronger friendship. He may still love her but she needs him as a friend more. We see most of the people in Sookie's life in this book. Her old boyfriend's and her girl buddies. She realizes there are people she can trust, people she can love. She isn't alone and she doesn't have to be. Sookie has really grown during this series and she has become quite the warrior despite herself. This was a good example of Sookie just being Sookie.
