it was amazing

I'm not a great crime fiction reader, but decided to read this after hearing the BBC's book group review of it. I was not disappointed. The ending I had guessed at, but wasn't sure until the last pages, and they were a surprise. The characters were exquisitely drawn. And how refreshing to have a detective who is neither a psychological wreck nor a social outcast! And of course, the city of Venice is one of the characters: lovingly drawn by Ms. Leon. That trip in the fog!!! Great stuff. I will definitely continue to pursue the Comissario in others of Leon's books.
