liked it

I couldn't put this book down but was very disappointed by the ending, the evildoers/victim correlation was too high and the we don't turn out like our parents comparison between Laney (main character) and her sister who she raises after the demise of both parents was just too simplistic. What was so real to me was the strange, back woods religion and unique language that had evolved and Laney's parents insisted she use.
